Franklin Method

The Franklin Method utilizes imagery, visualization, touch, and experiential anatomy to help us move efficiently and with ease, the way the body was designed to move. Rather than teaching a specific set of exercises, it focuses on improving the function of your body in everyday activities. In our busy and often stressful lives, we spend a majority of our time sitting as we drive, work on computers, watch TV, and socialize. It is easy to lose touch with our bodies and many of us suffer from shoulder tension, neck and back aches, foot and knee pain and other ailments. Relearning what good posture, proper breathing, and alignment should feel like can create positive lasting change for both our minds and our bodies. The result is less wear and tear on your bones, joints, and tissue and a more relaxed, natural way to hold your body and move it in space. It all starts with the knowledge that we have the power to change.

At Move Beyond Pilates, we weave the Franklin Method teachings into all our classes. We use skeletal bone models, anatomy software and images to understand our body better, balls to roll and release muscle tissue, and TheraBands to create resistance as we breath, stretch, and move.
